Just a pretty face in an empty shell !

This is Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) on Fox Business railing against earmarks, she is just one of many Republicans who are speaking out on one side of their mouth while requesting their own Pork.
But Bachmann took her hypocrisy a step further, claiming that she has signed an anti-pork pledge.

In actuality:

"according to Legistorm, Bachmann has requested 7 earmarks in Fiscal Year 2008 costing tax payers a total of $3,767,600. Some examples:

- $94,000 for Sheriffs Youth Program of MN
- $335,000 for Equipment Acquisition for Northland Medical Center
- $803,000 for Replacement Small Buses, St. Cloud Metro Bus

As MSNBC’s David Shuster noted, Bachmann indeed signed the Club for Growth’s ‘No Earmark’ pledge back in 2008. While she clearly broke this pledge, Bachmann’s name is curiously absent from the list of lawmakers making the same pledge for 2009."

This woman has no shame and I wish that the media would start reporting
all of her lies.
Keith Olberman did a good job Friday night including her again as one of his "Worst Persons" in the world
Now watch this pretty little things as the lie oozes out of her mouth.

Thanks to thinkprogress.org and Keith Olberman for this information.

The hypocrisy is just amazing. I found a story (posted a link on your last post) showing that a good 40% of the earmarks were from the Republicans! So they can vote against the stimulus bill and then benefit from it, too.

Thanks for that article Kitty, I forwarded it to some Republican friends.
I find it so strange they can lie so well with a straight face.
Which reminds me, is anyone surprised about Bristol and Livi's break up.
I predicted it the day he stood at the Republican convention with that
"What in the hell am I going to do now look" !"

Green Tea: I see issues on both sides of the aisle. I hope the President will take a closer look at every single line item. Some are very good. Others shocked me. Washington is so big and uweildy I hardly know where to begin. But this pork is bad for us all.

One persons Pork is another person essential service. There are a lot of needed transportation, bridge, and other capital expenditures. But while many on the Right request them with one hand, they vote down the bill with the other.

The problem with earmarks is they don't get the necessary hearing they should in a transparent government. But that doesn't mdan theya re all pork. Its all in perspective.

More to my point:

Despite a likely conservative challenge in next year's Republican primary, moderate Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.) won't be running from his record of bringing home the bacon.

A day after President Obama signed into law the $410 billion catchall spending bill for most federal agencies, Specter and Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr. (D-Pa.) issued five news releases noting every earmarked expenditure they had secured in the legislation.

The 16-page list tallies up $161 million in projects secured by the senators, most of it coming through Specter's seniority on the Appropriations Committee. "This funding will have a tremendous impact on local communities," Specter said in one release.

Specter, 79, has essentially doubled down on a political bet that all politics is local -- and the corollary theory that all earmarks are pork except when delivered to your own towns, in which case they are a nice T-bone steak.

Like I said, one persons pork, is another persons Bacon, or in this article a fat juicy T-Bone steak.
