Tidbits...

We had some beautiful days over Thanksgiving, sunny and in the 40's. We took a quick trip down to Sheldon Iowa and spent some time with my 97 year old Auntie Lo. She has failed a lot since we last saw her in May, her mind still clicking but slower. With a twinkle in her eye she maintained she is going to live to 100 years old. I learned very young not to bet against her.

On our way home we stopped at my nieces in the hills of Mankato for Thanksgiving dinner, she is a lurker here so I am saying thank you for the Turkey by Phil and Chef Valli and Sheila's gourmet touches to the rest of the meal, pie ala Jeff. I am going to watch my calories for the next couple weeks.

Black Friday is getting crazier and crazier, the news reports that a 37 year old man in NY was trampled to death at a Walmart when the crowd waiting to get in, crashed through the doors. I don't think there has ever been anything I wanted bad enough to stand in line waiting for a store to open.

When we got home Friday night my computer was funky turned out to be a dead mouse, Techy Flash was here Saturday morning with a temporary fix, along with Nick the stud muffin. Don't tell him I called him that, he may be 16 but he still blushes. Flash also downloaded some video help for me, so last night Hubba and I caught up on Desperate Housewives via my computer. What next in the Techy world, boggles my brain.

It is gloomy and damp today, a good day for a movie so I am heading out to see Australia while Hubba sleeps in his chair.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend and now the rat race begins in full.

Bah Humbug is right! I was so upset about the Wal-Mart story. Especially the people who complained when they were told the store was closing because someone had died. All of this so someone could buy a cheap microwave?

Fun to hear about you traveling around my birth state!
I'm jealous about you seeing Australia...I'm an epic girl! Hope to do it during the holidays...
One holiday down and one to go!!!! I have a love/hate relationship going!!

Glad to hear Lois is still hanging in there. I will be sending her a Christmas card soon.

I spent Thursday at boyfriend Tom's Republican brother's house. I politely avoided all reference to politics. When I left I noticed that somone had stuck a McCain 08 sticker over the Obama button on my purse. I laughed out loud. I thought that was pretty funny. Of course its a lot easier to have a sense of humor about that when your guy won. :)
I ate way too much and spent the rest of the weekend going to the club to work off all those extra calories. Today I can barely walk.

Australia, a little long, but
I loved it

Michael, yes Lo has an attitude I wish I had inherited..always up, no matter what..

Chris
I love Christmas Eve and Day,
but I hate the preparation and the fact that it starts right after Thanksgiving.
By Christmas I am wearing ear plugs in stores to drown out Rudolph..

I love Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well, and I even like the decorating...it's just a lot of work! I am one of those people who do not do one thing for X-mas until THG is over, so it's more hectic, but more in the spirit of the holiday....instead of lasting 3 months!
