Remembering 9/11

Today is the anniversary of one of the most tragic events in our history.
An event that has been taken by the right wing and twisted into a political
cause for them.
They shout fear every time they want to cover up one of their mistakes.
It will be a worse tragedy if they again steal an election and put
fear mongers into office.
We need to keep our eyes on the prize and make sure this doesn't happen.
How ?
Talk to people about the issues and not the personalities.

Check out my Centrisity link for another view of this day.

Where were you and what were you doing?

I was in my classroom at Pleasant Hope elementary school with a pile of forth graders. The radio was telling of the tragedy and I ran over to it to turn it off so the children wouldn't get scared and one of the boys came over to me and said, "Ms. P. don't turn that off, I need to hear that." So I left it on and he and I stood there listening, the only ones listening to the horror and I thought in my mind, this boy may be president some day. And when it was over he looked at me with tears welling in his eyes and he said, "I need to call my mother, I've just got to check on her." So I marched all thirty of those little guys up to the office and I let that boy call his mama. After he'd talked to her I imagined she'd be coming up to get him but he said, "No, I'm fine now, because my mother's okay, she said I should stay here and be educated, and that I should say prayers for all of the people who died." Yeah I started crying, but who wouldn't?

Thanks for remembering GiGi, and thanks for asking.

xx, Lori

I was at home and had just turned on the t.v. they had already hit the 1st. tower, I called my mom in Oregon and we watched together the horrer and of coarse with much disbelief, I live in ut. It's not an occassion one forgets.
But I've come to believe since that day like the studies on '9/11 we know' site and others, that it was no terrorist plot, except that of our own elected ones..
Kudos GiGi to you and your blog..
